Across the Gulf, discriminatory campaigns target low-income male migrant workers living in shared dwellings. In Kuwait, the recent “Be Assured” campaign has left hundreds of low-income male migrants homeless and in miserable conditions.

In a study of 94 migrant workers in Dubai carried out between 2017 and 2018, only 5% of men and none of the women interviewed reported feeling appreciated or respected by their employers.

Saudi's Minister of Labour and Social Development has issued a ministerial order revising the labour law’s executive regulations. The amendments include a table of labour law violations corresponding penalties, some which are new or updated with increased fines.
