Nepal Stops Allowing Women to Leave for Work in Lebanon

Following the string of suicides by maids in Lebanon, Nepal's Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) announced its decision - Opens in new tabto stop granting permissions for women to work in Lebanon as domestic worker. Nepal News reported - Opens in new tabthat the Nepali recruitment agencies, which were supposed to build shelters for their workers and check on their condition by calling them twice a month, did not comply with their commitments to the Nepalese government.
